The ore train on it's scenic journey towards its final destination of Port Cartier which is located on the Saint Lawrence Seaway. There are many waterfalls like the one above on this scenic route.

Engine 73 ore train leaving Mount Wright Mine going to Port Cartier on the Saint Lawrence Seaway. As can be seen in the background, there are many barren stretches along the highway. The reason for this are the numerous forest fires which have occurred in this area. Since no settlements are threatened by the fires, they are allowed to burn themselves out leaving nothing but large boulders, a few shrubs and caribou moss as mother nature starts to reforest the burned over area. With approximately 6 to 8 weeks of growing season per year and damage from water and snow erosion, reforestation is a very slow and often unsuccessful process.
