Quebec Cartier Mining - 1960 to 1985 - Blast Sequence at Lake Jeannine Mine

Blast Sequence 1  

1. The holes have been dug, the charges laid and primed, the mine pit cleared of personnel.

2. The start of the blast. The first charges have been detonated.

3. The second set of charges in the sequence have started to detonate.

4. The third set of charges in the sequence have started to detonate.

Blast Sequence 5  

5. All charges have been detonated. The affect of this blast can be seen in the dust that's been thrown into the air.


Blast Sequence 6
 

6. The blast is over and the dust is starting to settle. It will soon be time for the equipment and men to return to the pit and start moving the loosened ore to the processing plant.
