A Scoff an' Scuff's Labrador
Quebec Cartier Mining - 1960 to 1985 - Haulage Truck

Haulage Truck

The shovel loading a haulage truck. Viewing the photo carefully, you can see two tiers of steps the operator must climb to get to the cab of this huge electric shovel.

Haulage Truck

Truck and Loader. For an idea of the size of these haulage trucks, between the truck and the loader a man is standing. These older trucks are a precursor to the huge trucks being used in mining today that are about 22 feet tall (7 meters) and 20 feet (6 meters) wide. The load on these was approximately 140 tonnes where the trucks now haul 200 to 260 tonnes.
