Fire Lake Mine of Quebec Cartier Mining - Processing Plant

Click on Photos for larger view.

Rubble at Fire Lake

Under these piles of rubble you will find steel beams, siding and the remnants of the foundation which comprised the Fire Lake processing plant. When the mine closed, the processing plant met the same fate as the town of Gagnon; it was bulldozed.

Remains of Fire Lake

While it is still possible to see the steel beams and siding poking through the gravel; you can see by the green vegetation that mother nature is starting to reclaim the area where once the processing plant stood.
