Ville de Fermont, the French speaking town associated with Mount Wright, is situated 2 km (1½ miles) off Highway 389 and is certainly worth visiting. Except for some single and multi-family housing, the rest of the population lives within this windscreen. It contains apartments, shops, schools, bars, hotel, restaurants, supermarket, and recreation facilities including a swimming pool. Unless you worked at the mine, you would never have to leave this building to live a full life during the seven months of winter.
