Quebec Highway 389 - Law Enforcement

We've been driving the length of Highway 389 at least once a year since 1998 and only once have we seen Quebec's finest patrolling this remote highway. It was such a memorable occasion, we snapped a photo of the police cruiser as evidence that they actually do preserve law and order on this isolated highway.

All kidding aside, please remember to drive carefully. Not only to avoid a traffic ticket, but so you arrive at your destination alive and healthy.

Inside the business at Relais-Gabriel are albums with photos of transport truck accidents that happened on this long stretch of remote and lonely highway. When you consider this highway opened in 1985, and you only meet a vehicle about every hour, that's a large percentage of accidents. Even if the police are not following you, please remember to be careful.
