Paved surfaces are from Baie Comeau to Manic V 212 km (131 miles), from Gagnon to Fire Lake 88 km (55 miles), from Mount Wright to both Fermont and on to the Quebec-Labrador Border 22 km (13 miles). All of the drive is a lovely view; however, part of the drive is very bumpy with many curves, hills and mountains. |

After spring's thaw, we often share the road with porcupine who are quite adamant that it's their road and they are tolerating vehicle traffic. They are not afraid of humans and will observe for a bit before they wander off. |
