Beautiful fall foliage along Highway 138. Canadian maple trees display their colorful splendor during autumn along Highway 138. At the time we captured this beautiful fall scene, there were three tour busses at this small roadside rest area. People were lined along the shore of the lake snapping photos. To avoid taking photos of the tourist's backsides, we had to wait in line to photograph. These tour busses continue on to Tadoussac for whale watching excursions.

To highlight the fleeting beauty of this spectacular view of the top photo, the scene to the left shows the same general area three weeks later. The fall winds have done their dirty deed, stripping the trees bare of the colorful foliage. Winter is trying to establish her claim by leaving whisps of snow.
