Trout River Pond

This land-locked fjord is 15 km (9 miles) long. The first part of this lake is 30 meters (98 feet) deep; however, most of the lake is more than four times that depth. We really enjoyed this 2½ hour boat tour because there was room to move around and take photos, the tour guides gave lots of information, answered questions, and found wildlife for us to view and photograph. This tour is accessible with a very short walk and is also handicapped accessible.

Trout River Pond

A close-up of the foliage growing on the rocks of the mountains of the southern shore. It appeared the plants were almost magically or magnetically attached to the huge, steep rocks.

Trout River Pond

A picture of where we had been - a last look at the magnificent beauty of Trout River Pond - as the tour came to an end.
