Brigus Homes

Driving around Brigus always reminds Debbie of a movie set complete with unique and quaint homes. Below is a sample of just a few of the beautiful houses in this small town.

The top left photo shows a building that was originally built in 1825 for local businessman Charles Cozen. It is the only remaining stone building in Brigus. One particular local oral tradition says it was converted into a barn shortly after the suicide of Dr. Robert Dobie in 1837 because nobody would live in a house where a suicide had been committed. Ye Olde Stone Barn Museum was reconstructed from the original stone and now houses historical information, artifacts and photographs.
