There is a diversity in the members of the riders.

This smiling officer kept riding by where we were standing; we figured he wanted his photo taken.

However, during the more intricate maneuvers, his smile was replaced with a look of concentration.

At the completion of the program, riders and horses were available for photos and to answer questions (rider) or to have their nose petted (horses).

There are over 600 applications annually to become a rider in the Musical Ride; however, only twelve applicants are accepted. Because of the smiles, it was easy to tell both the riders and the horses were enjoying their tour of duty. Watching them makes you proud to be a Canadian!
