Looking northwest towards St. John's. On top of the hill is Cabot Tower where Marconi received the first transatlantic wireless signal.

Looking northeast towards Cape Spear, the point furthest east in North America. In both photos are pieces of ice that have broken off from the icebergs.

The same iceberg taken near Shea Heights. This is about 5 KM (3 miles) from downtown St. John's.

There was a festive air and many people parked over a mile (1.6 KM) away. This photo also gives an idea of the size of this "small" iceberg.

Gary and Debbie felt safe enough to turn their back on this monster ice! The water that makes up the iceberg is approximately 15,000 years old.
