The ice surface inside of the Labrador City Arena during parents and tot's skating. Notice some of the younger children are using a modified walker in order to retain their balance while learning the intricacies of skating. Even though parents stay near their children, you will notice the young skaters are all wearing the required helmets.

As you enter the arena, you will notice the trophy cases. Because of the diversity of sports which use the arena's surface, there are a large number of trophies on display. The autographed hockey stick in the middle trophy case belonged to John Slaney. John scored the winning goal for Canada in the World Junior Championship game and was also the first Newfoundlander to ever be a first round draft choice in the NHL.
