The first fishing and hunting camp in Labrador West was opened in 1960 and called Frontier Lodge. The main lodge consisted of a dining area, cook house, recreation area complete with stone fireplace and wet bar. There were also three bunk houses, storage sheds, and caretaker's cottage. This complex located on the Ashuanipi River was donated to the First Carol Scout Association. The Scouts used these buildings for summer and winter camping. |
