These two photos are of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) headquarters in Labrador City. The building serves as the area offices, vehicle garage, and communication center. It is also the home of the local lock-up.
Because of the uniqueness of this northern area, the RNC requires various modes of transportation to be able to perform their duties. Besides the regular cruisers, they possess numerous snowmobiles, pickups, a 4-wheel drive SUV, high powered boat, and bicycles.
The force is very community minded. At Halloween they hand out treats while checking to assure the trick-or-treaters are safe. They arrange pool tournaments complete with prizes for the teens and freely give of their time for other community events.
