Peas Pudding Recipe

Take 1 1/2 cups dried split yellow peas. 1 piece of salt pork, 1 Tablespoon butter, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper.

Wash peas, mix with salt pork. Place in a pudding bag. Tie bag, allowing room for expansion of the peas. Place bag in stock-pot with Cooked Dinner for 3 to 3 1/2 hours. When cooked, remove from bag and mash well with butter, salt and pepper.

Although we include a recipe for peas pudding, our family does not enjoy this side dish. However, we all enjoy eating first or seconds (or thirds?) when we make a traditional split pea soup.
