A Scoff an' Scuff's Labrador
Loons

Loons

While diving for food or protection, loons are known to dive as deep as 180 to 200 feet (54 to 61 meters) and the longest recorded dive is 15 minutes.

Loons

A male and female loon have nested in this area for the last seven years. Although a loon couple normally only have two eggs per year, this couple are quite prolific breeders. We've counted up to eleven chicks in tow. It was fun watching either mamma or poppa loon try to keep the brood together while teaching them survival skills.

Loons

This loon's neck is bent and she's apparently scratching her back with one black leg and foot stuck up in the air.

Loons

When startled by a noise, the loons take flight.
