Ptarmagan

Ptarmigan have excellent camouflage. The white bump in middle of the shrubs is actually a ptarmigan sporting its winter plumage.

Gary says he's not much of a hunter; in fact he's never hunted in his life and probably couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. However, if local legend is true, if he did decide to go hunting ptarmigan he might be able to actually bag one. It is said that these birds are so dumb that if you shoot at one and miss, all you have to do is turn the gun around and hit it over the head with the gunstock. Instant ptarmigan soup.

Ptarmigan have excellent camouflage. The grayish brown bump on the log is actually a ptarmigan sporting its summer plumage. Ptarmigan have feathered feet.
