Welcome to Wabush  

Wabush, incorporated in 1967, is 1,750 feet (533 meters) above sea level and nestled between a valley of the Wapusakatto Mountains, Wabush Lake and Jean Lake. It has a population of 2,300. The writing on the bottom of this welcome sign partially covered by snow states, "From the Earth We Prosper" reminding people that the town's prosperity depends on the iron ore industry.
