Churchill Falls - Brinco Bridge

Brinco Bridge

The surface of the Brinco Bridge across Churchill River is made out of steel grating. Looking through the holes in the grates, you can see trees and what was once the riverbed.

Churchill Falls

In January, 1992, water was "spilled" out of the reservoir, allowing much more water than usual to travel its natural path over the falls. It is our understanding this was done because of ice storms in the States and Quebec which damaged power lines and resulted in a decrease in demand for power production.
