In the early 1960's, Twin Falls Power Development, a subsidiary of IOCC, was created on the Unknown River by DuFrense Engineering. It was located at: 53° 30' N 64° 32' W. This plant was 34.64 KM (21.52 Miles) from Churchill Falls and had a capacity of 225 mw. Because of pcb's this plant was closed and the water diverted to be used in making electricity at Churchill Falls. Some of the homes were relocated to that town, also.
