These pages also honor Debbie's mom, another long-time resident of Kensington. She moved to the area as a newlywed in 1937 and has lived here ever since. She is holding a painting by her oldest daughter which was painted on the seat of an antique piano stool. The painting depicts Little Orphant Annie not to be confused with Little Orphan Annie. Starting with Debbie's maternal grandmother, reading this book has become a mother-daughter tradition for four generations. In fact, Debbie read several chapters to Gary when they were in Kansas on vacation. Now Gary knows why a gnome can be seen in every peanut. |
