The next step is to remove excess water from the filter cake. This is accomplished by a vertical pan feeder. As it revolves, the pan goes into a sump whereby means of vacuum the filter cake adheres to the filter pan. As the pan leaves the sump, blow-back air is used as a means to "blow" the filter cake off the pan onto a conveyer belt. |

The filter cake is then moved to the balling drum section. Here the filter cake travels the length of the spinning, balling drum where it is formed into greenballs. |
