Pellet Plant - Filter and Balling

Vertical Filters

The next step is to remove excess water from the filter cake. This is accomplished by a vertical pan feeder. As it revolves, the pan goes into a sump whereby means of vacuum the filter cake adheres to the filter pan. As the pan leaves the sump, blow-back air is used as a means to "blow" the filter cake off the pan onto a conveyer belt.

Balling Machine

The filter cake is then moved to the balling drum section. Here the filter cake travels the length of the spinning, balling drum where it is formed into greenballs.
