Loaders are used to reclaim concentrate from the product stockpile. Because of the size of the tires and high center of gravity, these machines can be easily tipped given the right conditions. During spring thaw, the tires make deep ruts in the road. As the sun goes down and the temperature dips, these ruts freeze leaving deep trenches. If a loader operator drives down off the pellet or concentrate pile too quickly and he hits these frozen ruts and this huge loader will bounce like a rubber ball. When this happens, you should see the look on the operator's face as he bounces along the road. | |
