IOCC at Sept-Iles
- In 1968, construction of a new loading facility was announced with completion date tentatively set for 1970. This facility was completed in 1969. This dock was designed to handle 254,000-ton carriers with a combined maximum loading rate of 15,000 tons per hour.

In February 1970, the new dock is put into commission and the first giant ore carrier is loaded.
- In 1970, it was announced a new beneficiation plant would be built in Sept-Iles to process Schefferville lean ore. Construction on the new concentration and pelletizing plants began in 1972 and were completed in 1973.
- In 1976, expansion to the Sept-Iles concentrator began to increase the production of Schefferville concentrate.

On January 9, 1981, IOCC announced the closing of its beneficiation complex in Sept-Iles affecting 700 employees.
