Is it cold up there?
Winters in Labrador begin in mid-October and Gary's rule-of-thumb is that snow on the ground for Halloween will still there for Easter. Because of the high altitude, low humidity and lack of high winds, it does not feel cold outside at -20°C (-4°F). When Debbie first moved here, Gary had to remind her to wear her coat and gloves outside since frostbite is a threat even when it doesn't feel cold. Christmas to the end of February is our true winter when it is often is too cold to snow and the wind chill easily reaches -50°C (-58°F) during the night. The trade off is mild summers with possibly 5 days over 27°C (80°F).
