Welcome and Purpose Statement
This Purpose Statement has been in effect since April 18, 2001

Inukshuk's Award

Inukshuk Awards was previously called S&S Awards.

Award Program Retired - November 4, 2006

Welcome to A Scoff an' Scuff's Inukshuk Awards! Inukshuk (ee-nook-sook) is an Inuit word that literally translated means "stone man that points the way." These rock cairns, often of mammoth proportions, dot the landscape across Northern Canada and are used to guide travelers, fishermen and hunters in the treeless wilderness. Following in this Northern tradition, the Inukshuk Award points to sites of great value.

A Scoff an' Scuff's Inukshuk Awards' primary purpose was to showcase sites that offer a high quality of unique, educational, informative and enlightening content in a well presented, attractive, user-friendly format. Our recipient's sites exhibited information that was similar in quality and quantity to a travelogue, brochure, booklet or dissertation.

The webmaster did not need advanced technical expertise to achieve this award. However, it did require thought, imagination, creativity, personal research and the ability to construct an aesthetically-pleasing, content-rich site.

These awards were not given to all applicants, but were only bestowed upon sites that met or exceeded our criteria. They were presented in four progressive levels: merit, bronze, silver and gold. Evaluators' scores determined which level of award, if any, was presented.
