The Labrador City Lion's Club hosts an annual Valentine's Day Scoff an' Scuff (dinner and dance) for seniors in the area. The dinner was delivered to those seniors who were unable to attend. This year (2002) club members sculpted a heart dedicated to the seniors. It was placed next to the entrance so that all participants could enjoy the artwork as they entered the building. Gary says because of the cold in the area that people become senior citizens at age 55 (normal retirement age for this area).
