This is not a true snow sculpture; however, the nativity scene stable is interwoven branches that have been sprayed in misted water to form ice and shape the stable. It is a different form of winter art and requires expertise to not turn into an ice ball but to retain the beauty of finely iced twigs. The size is difficult to determine from the photo; however, the top of the stable is about 1.8 meters (6 feet) tall. | |

Each year Wabush Mines "plants" a Christmas tree on top of its facility. No needles, no mess, no fuss, no worry about fires since this "tree" is made from iron. Looking from our back door across the mile-wide lake, you can still recognize the tree's shape and the star on top. |
