Before the top was quilted:
The twin quilt (68" x 100") is a pattern called Birds in Flight. It is made from white and batique in turquoise, pink and purple with silver sparkles 100% cotton. This quilt is machine pieced, and hand quilted. The backing is 100% white cotton. The binding is matching cotton batik. The batting is a medium weight, warm fiberfill. The triangles are outlined quilted ¼" from the seams. The solid and batik squares are outline quilted and have an ornate curved line design that blends with the border design. The border is quilted with an overlapping curve design with a teddy bear quilted between each curve. There are 164 linear yards (150 linear meters) of quilting; or 5.8 linear yards of quilting per each square foot with 7-8 stitches per inch. The quilt was completed on 3 June, 2008.
