Before the top was quilted.
After the top was hand quilted:
This queen-sized (88" x 111") quilt is made from white, red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple 100% cotton. The colored fabrics are "Bubbles" by Ro Gregg for Northcott Fabric's "Quest for A Cure." For each meter of fabric sold, Northcott donates money to Breast Cancer Research. The backing is 100% white cotton; the binding is matching blue 100% cotton; and the batting is a medium weight fiberfill. This quilt is machine-pieced, hand-quilted and contains 2,772 pieces. The triangles are outlined quilted ¼" from the seams in white quilting thread. The plain white squares are quilted with a fancy design in the center; and the outside border is quilted with a rope design. There are 320 linear yards (293 linear meters) of quilting; or 4.76 linear yards of quilting per each square foot with 7-8 stitches per inch. This quilt was completed on Good Friday, March 21, 2008.
This quilt is similar to quilt 224. Since the photos I took of that quilt didn't turn out well, I wanted to replicate the quilt; however, instead of using pastels, I chose primary and secondary colors.
