The pattern is Aunt Dinah, a free traditional block from © The Quilter's Cache/Marcia Hohn. You may view the pattern at http://www.quilterscache.com/A/AuntDinahBlock.html. This quilt (67" x 97") is made to fit a sofa-bed and has a matching pillow. The quilt is a thank-you gift for my husband's brother and sister-in-law, Glenn and Flo, for house-sitting for almost a year before we retired and moved here. This quilt is made from ivory and earth-tone fabric in 100% cotton; that was chosen by Flo. It is machine pieced and hand quilted. The backing is 100% ivory cotton. The binding is matching fabric. The batting is a medium weight, warm fiberfill. The squares and triangles outlined quilted ¼" from the seams in ivory quilting thread with a floral motif quilted in the plain ivory squares; the ivory border is quilted with a swag and feather design. There is 166 linear yards of quilting; or 4.1 linear yards of quilting per each square foot with 8-9 stitches per inch. The quilt and pillow was completed on December 24, 2007.
