This queen bed quilt (88" x 124") is made from ivory, purple, magenta, gold, pink and floral 100% cotton. The backing is ivory cotton fabric. The double binding is purple 100% cotton. The batting is fiberfill. it is shown on a queen bed. This is my first hand-applique quilt; and was machine pieced and hand quilted. It was completed on September 9, 2002. Each pansy is outlined quilted and sets on parallel lines 3/4-inch apart. The sashing is outline quilted 1/4-inch from the edge and the center is quilted with a single chain. The outside border is quilted with a feather swag including a single echo; set on a background of parallel lines 3/4-inch apart. There is approximately 360 yards of quilting at 8 stitches per inch for 4.7 yards of quilting per square foot. This quilt pattern is from page 90 of Spring, 1980, Quilt Magazine.
