This queen sized quilt (90" x 108") top is made from navy, red and ivory 100% cotton. The backing is matching red cotton fabric. The double binding is navy cotton. The batting is fiberfill. It is machine pieced and hand quilted. It was completed in August 1988. The sashing is quilted with a curved line design. The airplanes are outlined ¼ from the seams with an "x" in the center.
This project was a multi-generational quilt. The pattern was from my maternal Grandmother from the Kansas City Star, My son designed the quilt. I cut the pieces and made a few blocks. My mother made the blocks and set them together. The women of the First St. John's Lutheran Church quilted the project. Many loving hands created my son's delightful quilt.
