The above quilted tree skirt are made with eight quilt squares and 8 diamond pieces. The skirt to the left is an Ohio star, the middle is an Ohio star with a light green border around the star, the quilt to the left is a laced star.
The quilt to the left is a feathered star; it has no hold in the middle for people that like to set their tree on the skirt rather then wrap it around the tree. One advantage of this method is the tree skirt can also be used as a table topper, or throw over the back of a sofa. The quilt in the middle is a hex star or starburst pattern. The quilt to the right is a mariner's compass.
Each of these quilts started with a fabric with a Christmas scene. The quilt to the left has a border and triangles to make the quilt the desired size. The center quilt is just the fabric scenes and the quilt to the left is half fabric scenes and half Ohio stars.
