Design Shapes - Triangles 2


The tree of life to the left and the sailboats to the right are many triangles with one added rectangle to complete the realistic-looking design.

The above quilts are based on a modified nine-patch. The quilt to the left is a bear paw and the quilt to the right is an Ohio Star. The Ohio Star would be a bit of a challenge for a beginner because it's a bit difficult to sew the four small triangles together without stretching the fabric cut on the diagonal.

The above left quilt is a snail's trail. The block starts with a small four-patch and builds with various sizes of triangles. The quilt to the right is called basket or scrap basket. It is my most favorite quilt to piece and quilt. It's a good thing I enjoy this quilt since I've made so many of them!
