Design Shapes - Square


The above two quilts are Nine-Patch. The one to the left is various colors of nine-patches set side by side and the binding is 4-inch wide white lace which makes this a very feminine quilt. The quilt to the left is alternating with a plain block. This is an excellent pattern for the beginning quilter and is also a good starter quilt for learning to use a rotary cutter and strip piecing.

The above two quilts are the Trip Around the World Design. These are squares set side by side. The quilt to the right is set on the diagonal.

The above two quilts are the Irish Chain. The quilt to the left is a triple Irish chain and the quilt to the right is a double Irish chain. This design is excellent for rotary cutting and gives a large area for a pretty quilting motif.
